YURY
Evergreens and Gospels, songs steeped in love, loss and heartbreak, but also in hope, acceptance, life and devotion.
LISTEN TO YURY
Singing is me being unguarded and naked, not an act but showing my true self
I hand over whatever is true in my chest right now, Trusting that raw offering carries its own weight. Not trying to impress, to perform a technical wonder, just showing what is real too me right now, just as it comes
And yes, some times the voice flows like it’s been waiting all night to be set free,
Others, the feelings are more hidden, the throat more tightened and the connection feels faint. and I still choose to sing right through that fog and that is what it makes real, that is why you can hear emotions and that is when it touches.
The thing that never quits on me is how much I love doing it.
Not for the spotlight, not for the “good job,” but just for being alive, being real and present and sharing and connecting with my audience.
So tomorrow, or the next hard day, or the next quiet one I’ll open my mouth again and sing anyway.
